Russ, who became a Practice Leader in the firm in 1995, joined Johnsen Archer LLP in 1990 after completing his Bachelor of Science with first class honours from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. While working at the firm, he obtained his C.A. designation with a place on the president's Honour Roll as one of the top ten candidates on the Uniform Final Exam. Russ brings a wealth of talents, combining a very sharp, analytical and creative mind with an infectious determination and an unfailing positive attitude. In addition to managing the office, his professional expertise is put to work for owner-managed businesses primarily in the construction, manufacturing, and distribution industries, and for family-run businesses.
Russ describes Johnsen Archer LLP as a firm that "applies creative solutions to business problems with a focus on today's number one impediment to business: income tax. At Johnsen Archer LLP, you are dealing with a team, not just an individual accountant." As part of that team, Russ has hired "an unbeatable group of accountants who provide a level of service and expertise few even expect of their Chartered Accountants." The same forward thinking and determination Russ has brought to Johnsen Archer LLP, he brings to his clients, defining professional success as "wanting to come to work every day because I am working with happy and successful colleagues and clients."
When he is not in the office, Russ loves to spend his time with his wife Linda and son, Bryce, enjoying the west coast lifestyle that first attracted him to Canada. He plays squash and soccer, and is possibly the firm's worst golfer.
